Answers to common questions about cosmetic packaging sourcing, customization, logistics, and quality control.
MOQs vary by product type and customization level. Stock items can have MOQs as low as 1,000–5,000 units, while fully custom packaging with new molds typically requires 10,000–50,000 units. We help startups and smaller brands find lower-MOQ options through our vetted supplier network.
We provide stock samples at no charge (you pay shipping). For custom samples with your decoration, there is a sample fee that covers mold adjustment, decoration setup, and production. Sample fees are credited toward your production order. Typical sample lead time is 7–15 business days.
Stock items: 15–25 business days after order confirmation. Semi-custom (existing mold + your decoration): 25–35 business days. Fully custom (new mold + decoration): 45–60 business days. Shipping adds 15–30 days depending on method (air freight is faster, sea freight is more economical).
Tooling costs depend on the packaging type and complexity. Simple mold modifications may cost $500–$2,000, while entirely new molds for custom shapes range from $3,000–$15,000+. We provide detailed tooling quotes before any commitment, and in some cases, tooling costs can be amortized over production volumes.
We offer comprehensive customization including: custom shapes and sizes, color matching (Pantone), decoration methods (silk screening, hot stamping, UV coating, labeling, embossing), surface finishes (matte, glossy, frosted), closure types, and applicator designs. Nearly every aspect of the packaging can be tailored to your brand.
We accept artwork in AI (Adobe Illustrator), EPS, or PDF format. All text should be converted to outlines. Minimum resolution for raster elements is 300 DPI. Please include Pantone color references for color matching. Our design team will provide a digital proof for your approval before production.
We offer silk screen printing, hot stamping (metallic foil), UV coating, spray coating, labeling (self-adhesive and heat-transfer), embossing/debossing, and water transfer printing. Each method has different visual effects, cost structures, and minimum quantities. Our team helps you select the best method for your design and budget.
We offer sea freight (most economical, 25–35 days), air freight (fastest, 5–10 days), and express courier (DHL/FedEx/UPS, 3–7 days for samples). For large orders, we recommend sea freight with a small express shipment of urgent items. We handle all export documentation and customs requirements.
Yes, we ship worldwide. Our main markets include North America, Europe, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and Latin America. We handle export documentation, customs declarations, and can arrange door-to-door delivery (DDP) or port-to-port (FOB/CIF) shipping terms.
Our export process includes: production completion and quality inspection, booking shipping space, preparing export documentation (commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin), customs declaration, loading and shipment, and providing tracking information. We manage the entire process so you don't have to navigate Chinese export procedures.
Our QC process includes: incoming material inspection, in-line production checks, post-production final inspection (AQL standard), and pre-shipment inspection with detailed photo reports. We check dimensions, color, decoration quality, functionality (pumps, caps, droppers), and packaging integrity. Third-party inspection can also be arranged.
Yes. We conduct leakage testing on all liquid-containing packaging. Tests include vacuum testing, inverted storage testing, and transportation simulation testing. We also perform compatibility testing upon request to ensure the packaging material is compatible with your specific formula.
Compatibility testing verifies that the packaging material does not react with your product formula. We test for chemical stability, weight loss (evaporation), discoloration, and material degradation over time. This is especially important for products with active ingredients, essential oils, or high alcohol content. We recommend compatibility testing for all new product-packaging combinations.
